Position Description
As a participant in Medtronic's High School Diversity Internship Program each student will gain a better understanding of Medtronic, career paths they could explore in the STEM focus areas, and gain valuable work experience, and being to build their resume for college.
Position Responsibilities
The role this person will have will be to support Continuous Improvement Processes at our Manufacturing site. In this role the intern will:
• May assist with conducting time studies, some engineering/design of fixtures, and problem solving opportunities.
• May support other Continuous Improvement Processes projects as needed or determined by Manager/Supervisor.
• Support the team they are on with several responsibilities as determined by the supervisor or managers, including project administration, data entry, and special project assignments.
• Handle confidential, proprietary, and electronic information in a professional manner.
• Complete and present an internship experience overview for leadership at end of the summer program.
• Shadow and/or interview leaders to learn their path to current careers.
• Adhere to Medtronic policies, procedures, and business conduct standards.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications :
• Age 16 or older by June 1, 2015
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Experience with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc).
• Experience with working on the internet.
• Participating in one of Medtronic's corporate strategic partnerships: Black Data Base Processsors Association (BDPA), Cristo Rey, Wallin Education Partners, or BrandLab.
• Prescreened by corporate strategic partner as a viable candidate.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
• Matlab experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Dependable, self-starter who can work in a professional environment
• Prior work experience
• Enthusiastic about learning
