The Diabetes Sales Representative will be a key member of the Non-Intensive Diabetes Therapies (NDT) Business Unit’s commercial team and will manage an emerging territory base business. Individuals will promote growth by promoting, selling, supporting Medtronic Diabetes Type 2 products and services. The Sales Representative is an entry level field sales position with significant compensation upside and is a great career path for continued growth opportunities within Medtronic.
We are hiring sales representatives in various locations across the United States is support of our growing Diabetes Group organization. This position is an all-commission compensation plan - uncapped. This opportunity is designed for individuals who are motivated, self-directed, entrepreneurial and results-oriented.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Non-Intensive Diabetes Therapies (NDT) Sales Representative (SR) will manage an emerging territory base businessand promote growth by promoting, selling, supporting Medtronic Diabetes Type 2 products and services. The Sales Representative is an entry level field sales position with significant compensation upside and is a great career path for continued growth opportunities within Medtronic.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct sales calls to promote, sell, and service Medtronic Diabetes products and services to existing and potential physicians
- Target and develop new customer accounts across primary care, internal medicine, and other complementary segments
- Implement quarterly sales plan to achieve and exceed sales goals and objectives. Expectation to increase utilization of Medtronic products within the existing install base while successfully growing that customer base organically at the same time.
- Educate physicians, nurses, educators, and other referral sources regarding the importance of Type 2 diabetes management, continuous glucose monitoring and other NDT products
- Work directly with patients
- Provide product and therapy technical support and service, including consultation at staff in-services and physician seminars.
- Fiscally manage territory by controlling expenses, product returns, and product inventory.
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources to establish and grow a solid base of business.
- Assist in establishing the company as the leader in diabetes products in the community by participating in community organizations such as local chapters of ADA (American Diabetes Association), AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators), JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and patient support groups.
- Coordinate daily support activities and customer activities at meetings as assigned.
- Actively attends and engages in meetings and conference calls as required
- Complete administrative reporting as assigned.
- Utilize approved sales collateral to support promotional and territorial needs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and internal resources.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as required to support business needs

Must be able to drive approximately 85% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.
Ability to drive over four hours consecutively.
Must be insurable and maintain a valid driver’s license.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior sales experience strongly preferred.
- Prior medical device, business to business or pharmaceutical sales experience strongly preferred.
- Strong data analysis, evaluation and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Diabetes products and therapies.
- Must be able to demonstrate deep understanding of the customer to drive, challenge and push thinking.
- Solid experience in making multiple referral calls on a daily basis.
- Job skills in business planning/consulting and territory financial analysis.
- Ability to execute sales strategies in a complex, multi-faceted environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented conceptual/consultative sales skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Preference given to local candidates.
- Must successfully complete sales training.
