Associate Systems Administrator – GOC Support
JOB SUMMARY:
Medtronic’s Global Operations Center (GOC) is chartered with monitoring key IT production systems 7x24x365. With facilities in the US and the Netherlands, our GOC is staffed around the clock with experts who have the tools, know-how and ability to identify and resolve production issues quickly. Our focus is on production uptime and in doing whatever it takes to identify issues and keep our systems up and running. GOC Support team manages refresh projects where Medtronic is able to deploy cutting edge technology and is known in the IT market as a front-runner in many areas.
. Job Title : Systems Administrator
Department : Global Infrastructures & Operations
Reporting to : Lead – Asset Management
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible to work closely with a global teams on network technology to ensure production uptime
· Responsible for maintaining/managing our key monitoring systems like SCOM and NIMSOFT and assist with data analytics and report creation
· Performing daily health checks and implement improvements
· Provide support operations of global Medtronic network infrastructure under direct supervision of team lead & extended global teams
· Involve in transition of support of various projects from Design and Engineering (D&E) delivery teams
· Actively contribute to Knowledge base and provide creative ideas for knowledge management within the organization
· Responsible for leveraging and acquiring knowledge from global peers & actively contribute to Knowledge base
MUST HAVE
· Broad technical expertise in areas such as:
· Windows Server Operating Systems (MCSE is a pre)
· Server installation/configuration
· AD / File&Print / DFS management
· VMware vSphere
· Management via vCenter
· Installation / configuration of hosts and VM’s
· Storage (SAN, DAS, NAS)
· Hardware (Cisco UCS, EMC, HP Proliant, Dell Equilogic)
· Management/administer of monitoring tools (SCOM, NIMSOFT,..)
· Backup technologies (CommVault/Netbackup/BackupExec)
· Experience in handling simple and medium production issues & root cause analysis (RCA)
· Effective communication with high degree of escalation management
· Effective communication with timely escalation of issues
PREFERRED
· Experience in any of these areas would be considered as a plus:
· Citrix XenApp
· Rightfax
· Exchange
· Backup technologies (CommVault/Netbackup/BackupExec)
· Service Management (Change/Problem Management)
· Report creation (data trending/analytics)
· Works effectively and independently in a dynamic environment
· Ability to multi-task and work with multiple technical teams
· Ability and desire to perform "admin" work as well as "technical" work
· Self-motivated, self-managed, and results-oriented with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills and perseverance to accomplish objectives
· Excellent diagnostic, problem solving and issue resolution ability
· Able to learn quickly with minimal supervision
· Ability to assess status quo, and come up with new ideas
· Critical thinking capability with good analytical and reasoning skills
WORK TIMINGS
This role may require working in shifts and shift shall be assigned as per business need.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation in Engineering (BE/BTech) or Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) from a reputed institute/university.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience with enterprise environments.
