A Day in the Life
The Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) BD&S team supports the development of the long-term strategy for the region and the execution of strategic growth initiatives and is a trusted partner for the regional and business leadership. The BD&S Associate will provide support to the senior members of the team and will report to the Senior Manager, BD&S EMEA and will be part of the EMEA BD&S team.
A Day in the Job
• Support the annual strategic planning process for EMEA region
• Develop a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and key strategic issues impacting Medtronic and the region
• Support region, product groups and business units in developing their medium to long term strategies, for example:
Identify vectors and build plan to accelerate growth in emerging markets
identifying services or digital products to expand our offering for a specific disease
• Identify, investigate, and analyze possible acquisition, minority investment, strategy partnership, distributor buy-outs and commercial collaboration opportunities.
• Develop financial and valuation models for proposed transaction and identify and assess opportunities and risks of proposed transactions including financial, operational, and integration synergies/issues.
• Manage all due diligence activities in partnership with Corporate Development.
• Support contract negotiations
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 4+ years’ experience in an investment bank, Big 4 transactions team, a leading consulting firm, private equity or a strategy / M&A team within a multi-national company (2 years with Advanced Degree)
· Strong excel and financial modeling skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Independent thinker and self-motivated
· Excellent communications skills
· Language: English a must, other regional languages are a plus (e.g. French, Dutch)
Nice to Have:
· Masters or MBA
· Experience in large, matrixed, multi-national organizations
· Healthcare industry experience
Travel Requirements:
· Expected to travel 20% depending on the business requirements.
