Job description

Restaurant Name : Dagenham Fs-Dt

Our Apprenticeship programme is a fantastic opportunity to study while you work. As an Apprentice you will learn about our business and gain knowledge of the hospitality industry. The programme takes a minimum of 12 months and 1 day to complete and at the end of your Apprenticeship you will gain a qualification worth 5 good GCSEs (A*-C grade). You'll become part of a team that works together to provide the best quick service, family restaurant experience. If you've visited one of our restaurants before, you've probably got some idea of what's involved in working here but you might not realise the variety of the role and the different skills you will learn. Specific responsibilities that involve serving customers include working behind the counter on the till and being out in the dining areas looking after our customers' needs. You will complete a mixture of on and off the job training and you will be supported by a qualified Tutor Assessor who will structure your training, assess your progress and generally support you through the programme. The components you will work towards to achieve your Apprenticeship are: - Functional Skills - these are essential skills in English and maths. Depending on your previous qualifications, you may have to complete one or both. - Diploma (NVQ – National Vocational Qualification) – this is the work based part of the qualification learning practical, work related tasks. - ERR – Employee rights and responsibilities. This involves learning about policies and procedures such as Health & Safety and will be completed by using your Apprentice Diary. - PLTS – Personal Learning and Thinking Skills are generic skills essential to life, learning and work. These skills will be monitored throughout your programme. - Technical Certificate – this is an examination, taken when ready, to test your knowledge gained through the on the job training. The McDonald's Crew Apprenticeship Programme fulfils the requirements of “Raising the Participation Age” – a change in the law that means that young people in England must stay in Education or accredited work based training until the end of the school year in which they turn 17.
