Mars Petcare is Currently Seeking a Veterinary Technician in

Thompson Station, TN

Purpose of Role:

The focus of this role is to provide support to the staff veterinarian in the care of the dogs and cats at the MARS Pet Feeding Facility.

Principal Accountabilities:

·  Work effectively as part of the veterinary team to support animal care
·  Administer preventative medicine to the PFC pets under the direction of the staff veterinarian.
·  Provide appropriate staff training on basic animal health care (i.e. nail trims, ear cleaning, etc.)
·  Conduct daily evaluations of pet health. Provide regular disease surveillance.
·  Act as administrative support to the staff veterinarian.
·  Order and stock all appropriate medications and veterinary equipment as directed.
·  Support the training of all PFC pets
·  Support the behavior programs issued by the PFC Behavior Specialist
·  Support the dog and cat care teams in the administration of basic veterinary care.
·  Transport pets to obtain off-site veterinary services if needed
·  Provide veterinary support to sick/injured pets

Qualifications
Minimum

·  Bachelor’s Degree
·  2-5 years’ experience as a Veterinary Technician
·  Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PP, Word and Outlook

Preferred

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences
·  3+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
·  LVT/RVT
·  Inventory management
·  Fear Free certified
·  Dental radiology experience
