Job Purpose/Overview
The Sr. Processing Operator is responsible for operating all automated and/or manual manufacturing equipment used to produce sheeted gum following the established manufacturing procedures and prescribed formulas with exactness. Job functions include, operating various equipment throughout the department, the initiating and handling of movements with various ingredients, perform various cleaning, inspection, and lubrication tasks, work to manage and improve inventory levels daily, and other duties as assigned. Effective communication, teamwork, and leading/participating on continuous improvement initiatives are required to be able to consistently meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform general housekeeping duties including cleaning out blenders, extruders, mixers, hoppers, cleaning conveyor belts, and as well as vacuuming excess ingredients around the processing equipment.
· Responsible for operating forklift equipment to pick up and transport various forms of ingredients and/or gum.
· Prepare and batch small ingredients using accurate weights for the purpose of mixing gum.
· Maintain physical inventories of ingredients by completing SAP transactions
· Transport loaded or empty barrels of trim and ingredients, weigh and dump ingredients, operate blenders and other processing equipment.
· Frequently stage bulk ingredients and ensure the proper functions of the delivery systems.
· Complete frequent observation of work-in-process and the completion of required documentations.
· Frequently completes SAP transactions to transfer base and flavor ingredients tot eh proper storage location.
· Independently operates processing equipment to produce a quality gum product in a team based environment.
· This position will be required to cross train in various positions throughout the processing department.

Knowledge / Experience
Mixing experience required
Basic math skills required to precisely calculate ingredients
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Forklift experience required
Participate in a team to accomplish all company goals and objectives
Frequent handling loaves of gum (60 lbs.)
Frequent lifting/carrying of containers (40lbs.)
Frequent handling of flavor barrels (100-200 lbs.)
Frequent handling/ rolling of flavor drums (400 lbs.)
Frequent bending/kneeling/crouching/twisting
