Mars Wrigley Confectionery is looking for a Shift Leader for the Yorkville, IL site.

The shift leader is responsible for the production team and accountable for safety, quality, engagement, and operating results for their respective shift. They own the Daily Safety Trigger System DMS. The shift lead effectively facilitates team shift connection points, coordinates communications within and across production lines. Shift leaders give clear and accurate reports to the Line Leader and Manufacturing Manager. They have thorough technical understanding and mastery of TPM/FMOS/RT and process control for their line. Shift Leaders are an integral part of the Daily Direct Setting meetings and owns integrity of Line Event Data Systems and leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards. The Shift Leader is the SME around CIL, Center Lines, and Anomaly handling for their assigned area. Shift Leader is responsible for managing associate performance and leading quarterly or monthly MBO discussions with assigned Associates. Shift Leader is responsible for escalating to the Line Leader any potential disciplinary actions under consideration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Directs work of the team members on their assigned shift to deliver the operations plan.
·  Works with Line Lead and team to ensure that all Line and Departmental metrics are met.
·  Manages associate performance and leading quarterly or monthly MBO discussions with assigned Associates.
·  Facilitates conflict resolution for their team.
·  Actively participates in daily FMOS/RT meetings. Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively.
·  Ensures all Safety and Quality processes and procedures are in place and followed.
·  Coach on centerlines when associates are checking to build capability (e.g. why is a centerline out, what could cause it, how do we bring centerline back to CL)
·  Work with operators to develop potential new centerlines that can drive out losses
·  Ensure all CIL activities are completed to standard and identifying root cause and changes to standards for anomalies.
·  Accountable for coaching and building capability, as well as removing any barriers for associates or handling requests. Will cover for breaks and operate a Machine only when the Business calls for it.
·  Leads root cause problem solving efforts on losses as necessary throughout the shift for the line/department.
·  Will assist on the line as needed.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY, RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPACT

• Coordinates Labor and completes daily staffing sheet

• Approves overtime as required, and communicates to Line leader

• Provides input for MBO for each Line associate

• Provides input to optimize production schedule

• Insures all required Quality checks and documents are completed for each shift

• Escalates Safety and Quality non-conformance

• Identifies and recommends Centerlines

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

·  High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
·  2+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment
·  Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership.
·  Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train.
·  Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
·  Proficient in MS Office and SAP.

Preferred:

·  Two year associates or Technical degree
·  Knowledge and experience with SAP, Microsoft Tools: Word, Excel, PPT

Physical Requirements:

·  Frequent lifting / carrying (10-50 lbs.)
·  Frequent pushing / pulling *(50-300 lbs.) and frequent bending and stooping.
·  Frequent handling / gripping (parts, tools, etc.)
