Ensuring that our products taste and look like the consumers want will be one of your key responsibility as a Sensory Scientist in the world’s largest chocolate production facility. From its base in the Netherlands, Mars produces premium confectionery brands - including Mars®, Snickers®, Twix® and Maltesers® - for the rest of Europe to enjoy. In this role, you will deliver fundamental sensory and consumer understanding that enables R&D projects to aim for international market leadership in defining key categories and product (content & pack). You will work with tools such as sensory panels and benchmarks to link consumer experiences with scientific analysis. In this process, you will not only use common research methods, but will also be expected to add product insights through experimental design, statistical modelling and tools, and data analysis.

 

To develop and drive the sensory and consumer science agenda in Food, we expect you to have a strong scientific basis and an enterprising attitude. As a university graduate with a degree in Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Consumer Research or equivalent, you have a sound theoretical basis. In addition, you should have two years of relevant work experience, in which you have demonstrated problem-solving skills, as well as superior skills relating to customer focus, time management, decision-making, and communicating with internal and external networks. Travelling may be required depending on the nature of the research and project needs (estimated at 10-20%).
