Senior Customer Development Manager - Grocery

Location : UK

Salary: £50,800 – £63,500 + £6000 car allowance + Bonus + Benefits

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Pet Nutrition business as a Senior Customer Development Manager within our grocery team. This role is designed to drive profitable growth within the Top 4 grocery customers and involves managing all dimensions of the customer relationship both internally and externally as well as developing the longer term strategy for the customer and Mars.

What are we looking for?

·  Experience in the Top 4 grocery customers in past 12 months
·  Advanced sales experience including selling, negotiating and leveraging insights to deliver customised customer plans against the 4 Ps, achieving company and customer objectives
·  Advanced customer facing experience demonstrated by ability to assess needs, propose mutually beneficial solutions, overcome objections, handle tough situations, manage conflict and close sale to maximise mutual value
·  Experience in leveraging the fundamentals of Category Leadership to drive category growth; ability to tell the category story.
·  Experience in managing a budget and/ or trade revenue optimisation delivering budget and return on investment

What would be your key responsibilities?

·  Responsible for achieving profitable sales and category growth with assigned priority head office contacts at said Top 4 Grocery customer.
·  Create and execute customer plans that deliver company and customer objectives and advance category leadership.
·  Develop exceptional customer relationships and influence at senior levels within the customer to implement solutions throughout the chain that deliver mutually beneficial results for the customer and Mars
·  Lead a cross functional team - collaborate/ leverage insights with internal partners (e.g. Customer Marketing, Brand Teams, Category Leadership) to fully execute customer plans/solutions.
·  Responsible for driving the customer relationship through ownership of the customer contact plan across all functions, including customer marketing & supply chain. Leads full cross functional team.
