The purpose of this job is to ensure that the roles and processes of Q&FS are applied and respected by the M&M’s Process value stream organization and to coach the M&M’s Process value stream to continuously improve on quality and food safety performance.

This holder of this position is the Q&FS leader within the Haguenau M&M’s Process Value Stream (VS). The job owner is primary R&D point-of-contact within the VS and leads the management and coordination of all R&D and Q&FS workstreams within the VS. The job owner creates excellent connections and a coaching culture within the VS to create a Q&FS mindset and behavior this in order to assure the on-going production of high quality and safe food products that comply with product design and meet customer and consumer expectations. As custodian of Quality and Food Safety, the job owner drives the Q&FS agenda in order to continuously improve the quality performance of the M&M’s VS. The job owner is responsible to first line incident management.

Context & Scope

As accountable R&D leader in M&M’s VS, leading the management and coordination of all daily R&D and Q&FS activities in the VS.

- R&D responsibility in the FMOS meetings (daily DMAIC meeting; daily Quality/Safety/Environment JTM; daily Panel, and daily VSM meeting).

- Responsible for the successful set-up and delivery of the Quality/Safety/Environment JTM; and responsible for the Quality/Safety/Environment sections in the VSM meeting.

- Co-responsible with the site Q&FS manager for the weekly Basic’s meeting

- Responsible for the output of the Q&FS operational KPI's in the VS

- R&D responsible to secure Q&FS resources for the preparation, execution and start up around a shutdown, also drives the R&D/Q&FS needs for shutdowns.

- Engage the VS team around a Quality and Food Safety journey and define together an agenda to drive the Q&FS mindset and behavior in the VS.

- Coaching the Quality technician and the HSE&FS leader to drive their Quality mindset and to ensure their activities are in line with the Q&FS needs.

- Responsible for driving a Quality mindset on the shop floor in the factory

- Supports and verifies with the training department that all associates in the VS are continuously properly trained and re-trained regarding Q&FS competencies/skills.

Assure the on-going production of high quality and safe food products that comply with product design and meets customer and consumer expectations

- Responsible for ensuring that the VS is compliant to Mars Global QFS standards that have been implemented.

- Responsible for the VS to deliver the target Quality KPI’s

- Drives excellence in the VS regarding GHP & GHP compliance in the factory

- Leads the audits for the VS

- Be the site champion for all changes that may affect quality and food safety and support excellence in process implementation

As custodian of Quality and Food Safety, the job owner drives the Q&FS agenda in the M&M’s Process VS in order to continuously improve the quality performance of the M&M’s VS.

- Direct responsible for the R&D VS program management

- Implementation of the site Q&FS OGSM into the VS

Understands the breakdown of deviations from the target Quality KPI’s (f.e. consumer complaints) and drives an improvement agenda in the VS

- Responsible to drive the Q&FS continuous improvement agenda (based on f.e. audit outcomes, incident learnings, and HACCP reviews)

- Project leadership: deliver results timely, at right level, within budget (Budget through small/ large minors)

- Benchmarking and contact with other sites/ R&D departments in relation to change management

- Leads the HACCP group for the M&M’s Wrapping area

Owner of quality and incident management on site by managing and communicating all product and raw material quality, food safety and legislative exceptions :

- Lead incident from start-to-end while using PRIMP and involving the right departments (Operations, Maintenance, PPI, Logistics) & R&D experts (Food Safety, Pack, PPI),

- Risk assessment, trouble shooting, incident investigation (5Why) and resolution, determining root cause and appropriate corrective and preventative actions as well as post incident review & GRID reporting

- Decision maker for accurate and timely stock (raw material and finished goods) disposition decisions

- Drives prevention of incidents to be repetitive

- Participation in CE Incident Reviews

Other responsibilities

- Consolidation of M&M’s QFS KPI’s for CE cockpit

- Leads Internal Audit program for HAG site

- Coordinates the LRQA audit for the site and manages the AART system
- Leads Revue de Process for the HAG QFS team

- Leads the training within the HAG factory for PRIMP.

- Backup for the HAG Q&FS manager, as such responsible to take all Q&FS quality decisions and to represent the Q&FS manager in the HAG factory during the absence of the HAG Q&FS manager.

- Leading Q&FS part for new activities on site (e.g. limited editions …)

As a key VS team member and valued business partner, contribute to all activities that will drive the VS towards its future. Support and develop cross-functional ways of working, “line of one” Q&FS mindset & approach and lean principles implementation.

Profile

·  Academic education in food science/ technology or related subjects or perennial fundamental comprehensive education in the field of quality and food safety and technology.
·  Valuable working experience (minimum 2years+) in food industry or related industries in the area of Q&FS
·  Proven and effective project management & organizing experience
·  Visible passion, behavior and leadership around Mars first principle – Quality

·  Food microbiology, analytics and sensory methods
