Job Purpose:
The Lebanon Project Engineer assists in the execution of the major project at RLB that will add capabilities and capacity to the Royal Canin North American Supply Network. The project will require significant demolition, building construction, equipment procurement, equipment installation, contractor services, and start-up activities over multiple years at the Lebanon Plant. This position has responsibility for the Safety, Q&FS, Security, Schedule, and Budget of the project.
The Lebanon Project Engineer is responsible for fundamental execution of project activities with a direct reporting line to the Lebanon Engineering Project Manager. The position is supported by the Global Technical Leaders and America’s Regional Engineering Project Manager during the overall project timeline.
The Project Engineer ensures after GTL handover that the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the quality standard.
The Project Engineer will deploy his/her engineering expertise to successfully support the execution of the project that will deliver a sustained technical competitive advantage for the business. He/she is responsible for managing the work of partners, allocating, and utilizing resources in an efficient manner in a co-operative, motivated, and successful team. He/she will coordinate the CVS processes as it fits in the project plan.This role requires strong functional/technical, communication, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Secure the Personnel Safety at the Site
· Maintain a culture for the Project that values the safety of Associates, Contractors, Visitors, etc.
· Ensure that the process developed at the Project Site systematically evaluates risks and hazards.
· Implement actions that eliminate and mitigate these hazards.
Manage the Project Deliverables within the Project Plan
· Ensure that the project objectives for Safety, Security, Q&FS, Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Hand-Over are accomplished.
· Execute the elements defined in the RACI as responsibilities for this position.
· Establish and maintain KPI’s linked with the dashboard and reporting format to track the KPI’s.

Ensure Site Communication and Alignment
· Communicate Project-related activities to the Site, Contractors, and Partners.
· Participate in communication sessions to convey Project status.
· Alert and escalate all scope, timeline, or budget deviations versus initial plan.
· Contribute to the periodic and quarterly report for communication at RC Global and Pet Care level.
Manage the Final Project Evaluations
· Conduct the hand-over of the Project’s installations to the RLB Supply Team.
· Coordinate the completion of a multi-phase PRP review up to and including an Operational Acceptance Review.
· Contribute to the Post-Implementation Review of the completed Project.
Context and Scope:
The Lebanon Project Engineer reports to the Lebanon Engineering Project Manager. The position interfaces as follows:
· Participates in Master Layout session support to align with the Global Technical Leaders, the local Supply key contacts, and external USA engineering partner to clarify the scope and design.
· Assist in Project Write-Up to gain approval and solidify scope, schedule, and budget.
· Coordinate proposal submittals with external support and/or Royal Canin support groups.
· Coordinate the review of proposals, awarded of bids, SOW’s, and contract assignments with support groups.
· Manage the project deliverables as aligned with the project plan including the safety, scope, schedule, and budget.
· Monitor the progress and manage the risks to mitigate gaps in schedule and budget versus the plan.
· Periodically, communicate status of Project plus resource and risk assessment.
· Plan and lead the CVS actions to support the start-up of the Project, including training of Associates, validation of processes/products.
· Perform review processes upon completion of the Project.
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
· Five (5)+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position in within a comparable industry; food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industry.
· Understanding of Engineering principles – knowledge of engineering disciplines: Process, Packaging, Electrical/controls, Construction or Utilities
· In-depth understanding of Project Management; mobilizing fast and aggressive timelines and producing quality work while influencing and working with various indirect cross functional teams or team members
· Ability to deliver results despite potential change and ambiguity
· Previous demonstrated creative solutions to complex problems and situations
· Strong communication, listening, and influencing skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with various cross functional partners, including leadership
· Strong business acumen skills – compiling reports, presentations, financial oversight, and leadership on projects
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in Engineering or MBA
· Eight (8)+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position in within a comparable industry; food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industry.
