THE COMPANY

Mars Food UK, the biggest food business for Mars Incorporated, produces leading food brands such as Dolmio and Uncle Ben’s, within a $33billion company which produces other iconic brands such as Wrigley’s, Galaxy and Whiskas.   In fact this factory is the growth engineer for Mars Food, which is going through a really exciting expansion process with brand new office facilities, line expansion and improvements.

 

THE ROLE

Due to an internal development promotion we are looking for a new talent to fill the production planner role for an assignment of 18-24 months.

You will be responsible for optimizing the short and medium term plan for several products with the goal to safeguard the Customer Service Level and Stock levels in the most efficient way.

You will be operationally responsible for the daily Logistics agenda and will work closely with the production & logistics teams, commercial, quality and safety teams, activity management and finance teams. You will report into the site Logistics & IE Manager.

 

THE CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone with qualifications (ideally at degree level) within logistics, supply chain, business admin, engineering etc. In addition experience working within a production/logistics planning environment is essential so you’ll have a good understanding of supply chain, market and sales dynamics.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to relate to people at all levels from a variety of backgrounds and to confront difficult and challenging situations as required.

You will have very good analytical and planning skills, good experience in MS Excel and an eye for detail. You must be able to balance projects, operational requests and weekly tasks. Experience in Project Management is a plus.
