Our Slough chocolate factory is a hive of activity producing over 100,000 tonnes of confectionery each year. Our site is full of enthusiastic, ambitious associates who have the incredible job of making our globally loved brands such as Twix, Maltesers, Galaxy and the infamous Mars Bar.

 

The Role

As Production Operator you will report to the Team Leaders where you'll be critical to helping us achieve and maintain operational excellence in production, along with safety, hygiene, quality and efficiency goals.  We rely on our Production Operators’ strong decision-making and operational excellence to undertake key responsibilities and ensure continuous production, including:

·  operating machines and making decisions at line level to achieve Key Performance Indicators
·  working with your team of Production Operators to achieve efficiency and effectiveness
·  performance monitoring, cleaning and maintaining standards. 

Preferably you will have proven experience in manufacturing and you’ll ideally have done training in manufacturing ways of working.  As a Production Operator you'll, also need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a can-do attitude and real enthusiasm for solving problems and taking on new challenges.   

As a Production Operator at Mars, you will be working across a continental shift of two 12 hour days, two 12 hour nights and four days off.
