Purpose of Role

Critical part of the Consumer Marketing Insights (CMI) team that drives information-based business decisions by providing comprehensive data, actionable insights, and thoughtful recommendations.  This individual will analyze data and develop insights about the pet category to help develop key beliefs and drive business growth.  Identify new opportunities within the channels, and proactively identify threats and opportunities.  This associate will collaborate with CMI team, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and other functional teams within Mars Petcare.   

 

Principal Accountabilities

·  Is considered the expert on market (channel, brands, etc.) trends within the Marketing team
·  Utilizes multiple data sources to create a full understanding of the market; will utilize Nielsen, IRI, GfK, and other sources
·  Responsible for creating clear and concise summaries of data trends and communicating trends to stakeholders as appropriate
·  Assist on delivery of advanced analytic (pricing, promotion, media effectiveness, etc) and other reports delivered by vendor partners
·  Deliver value-added insights to ad hoc business questions
·  Drive business results through analytics by uncovering and providing market, brand, channel, and consumer trends that develop strategic action plans
·  Investigates opportunities by identifying portfolio gaps and emerging trends
·  Develop and maintain recurring market reports for executive and category leadership teams

·  Prior experience working with Nielsen/IRI/GFK data sources.  Or other primary data sources from internal reporting systems.

Minimum Qualifications

·  Experience which demonstrates advanced problem solving and analytic capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment
·  Minimal 1 yr working experience and/or internship experience in sales or analytics
·  Bachelors degree from an accredited university

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  MBA degree
·  3 yrs + insights analytics experience
