A BIT ABOUT OUR DATA ENGINEERING TEAM

We are connecting and enhancing data assets from across multiple Petcare divisions to build a rich understanding of pets and pet-owners and power our business and the Mars Petcare data ecosystem. We are using an evolving, cutting edge tech stack to help us ingest, process and model data from across the segment to create robust pet-centric views of our clients. Working closely with our analysts and data scientists, we are constantly improving our data platform to enhance analytical capabilities.

HOW YOU’LL CREATE A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS

·  You will join as an entry level engineer on our data platform, helping build the foundations for a better understanding of pets and pet-owners
·  You will contribute to development of data flows & pipelines in a cloud environment using a progressive tech stack
·  e.g. Databricks, Spark, Python, PySpark, Delta Lake, SQL, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, ADLS, Parquet, Neo4J, Flask
·  You will execute and monitor pipelines to ingest data from a large number of disparate data sources
·  You will enthusiastically evolve your technical skillset, engage in training and learn new technologies and techniques
·  You will contribute to the design of data models for analytical insight
·  You will conform to coding standards contributing to a platform which is scalable and easy to maintain
·  You will exercise fluid communication with your team of data engineers
·  You will adopt DevOps & CI/CD methodologies to collaborate on a growing platform
·  You will contribute to the Petcare Data Platform, helping build the foundations for a better understanding of pets and pet-owners
·  You will integrate data from across divisions to produce valuable data assets on pets and pet-owners
·  You will work in squads to focus on key areas of development within the Petcare Data Platform
·  You will work comfortably in an agile and fast paced environment

And for this role, we hope you have the following skills we require to round out our team:

·  Strong desire to research and learn new technologies/languages and to become a highly skilled data engineer
·  Some technical experience manipulating data
·  At least a basic understanding of one of: Python (or similar), SQL, PySpark
·  Knowledge/Awareness around Spark / Databricks or similar
·  Knowledge/Awareness around cloud environment technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
·  Interest in the contemporary data engineering and analytics landscape, the current tools, the latest approaches
·  Excellent communication skills

If you also had these experiences, you’d knock it out of the park:

·  Working experience using Spark / Databricks or similar
·  Working experience with Microsoft Azure
