Junior Category Manager- Tesco, Field based, Head office based in Waltham
Salary: £32,000-£40,500

The Junior Category Manager is responsible for delivering high quality category leadership in Tesco Express and online and in partnership with the Tesco Category Manager for main estate. Using a mix of market, shopper and customer insights to identify category growth opportunities the role leverages & executes these through excellence in key Category Leadership initiatives, tactics and practices. Key initiatives and deliverables of the role are to work with a variety of data sources to land the execution of core range and distribution plans in line with the channel / brand portfolio strategy, enabling us to build efficient and sustainable category partnerships for mutual, profitable and sustainable category growth. The role will encompass wider insight support for the category team, particularly wider grocery accounts.

What would be your key responsibilities?
· Category and insights business orientation- Deliver best in class Category Management by taking an objective total category perspective when providing market, consumer and shopper insights to customer/operational teams. Lead the Range review process from inception through to implementation and delivery of post review analysis for Tesco. Delivery of Mars NPD launches into the accounts including creating category focused selling in stories, identifying listing opportunities/challenges and providing merchandising solutions to maximise on shelf delivery.
· Strategy development and vision- Deliver the category vision strategy, tailored to the retailer by developing a clear 3 year Category strategy. Ensuring our interactions with the customer leads to a competitive advantage through understanding of the Mars Vision and Account vision / strategies. Understand and deploy vision to the shelf for the account, collaborating with Sales to set joint targets.
· Customer relationships- Ensure Category growth and objectivity are at heart of all interactions with Customers.
· Category Team Support- Management/Support for accuracy of data coding, maintenance of all data & image libraries, and key insight tools such as ASO, PQA, Switching, SharePoint, PO management.
