Purpose of Role: The Jr. Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the design and installation of projects. The Project Engineer is an active member of the engineering community, functional engineering team, the local engineering team, and assigned project team(s). The Jr. Engineering Project Manager is responsible for deploying his/her engineering know-how to successfully execute and deliver projects to the business that provide a competitive advantage. To manage the scope of the Process and Controls workstreams of the Champion Project.

This is accomplished by:

·  Engaging project team members, encouraging them to proactively perform assigned tasks, manage the workstreams of project management.
·  The engineering knowledge required to execute multiple projects at the same time.
·  Engineering and design decisions required to execute multiple projects at the same time.
·  Contributing to a winning environment which promotes safety, trust and confidence.
·  Complying with and reinforcing safety, security and environmental policies.
·  Developing skills that support excellence in execution and leadership.
·  Meeting or exceeding commitments of project scope, time, and budget, while following financial policies and creating value engineering.
·  Using the standard project management process (EWP: engineering work process) to manage projects.
·  Being an active leader and/or participant in the project development process.
·  Manage project cost estimates, budget, resources, scope and schedule.
·  With scope and timeline in place, conduct BID process in partnership with the area to have the contractors and vendors in place to supply equipment and services for the projects implementation.
·  Innovative ideas.
·  Technical information required for project design.
·  Maintaining a positive attitude.
·  Following and supporting MARS standards.
·  Actively interfacing with functional groups on the site’s project team.
·  Implement risk analysis to visualize and prevent risks in advance.
·  Have great communication skills to escalate any risk that could jeopardize the projects.
·  Define project timeline according to the scope and business needs.
·  Assure high safety and quality standard during project implementation.
·  Be a key player to make sure the plant’s team is involved at the beginning of every project.

The significant obstacles and challenges are:

·  Managing complex projects at the same time to deliver safe, secure and environmentally responsible results.
·  Managing multiple responsibilities including project execution, functional support and self-development, concentrating on growing the role.
·  This professional will be leading an important part of the projects and will have interface with all the other workstreams. Furthermore, he/she must have potential for assuming higher level positions in the future (talent pipeline).

·  Communicate with the Project Manager / Sr. Engineering Manager to ensure project objectives are achieved.
·  Seek and apply appropriate technology to gain and a sustain technical competitive advantage.
·  Support initiatives that shorten new product and project cycle times.
·  Seek and support lean ways of working and apply lean principles in the engineering process and as a projects deliverables.
·  Continuously improve technical knowledge.
·  Continuously improve personal efficiency and performance to provide value added engineering.
·  Key member and contributor of the CVS (commissioning, validation and start up) team.
·  Support safety, security and environmental policies.
·  Contribute innovative ideas to provide competitive advantage and value engineering.
·  Identify, protect and expand intellectual property of corporation.
·  Maximize asset utilization through value added engineering and lean design.
LEADERSHIP
·  Support project objectives and challenge activities not aligned with those objectives.
·  Directly manage all assigned project work.

·  Effectively monitor and improve a safe work environment.
·  Ensure delivery of quality work.

Mission Critical Competencies and Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

·  3 - 5 years’ experience in an comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry preferable.
·  Basic understanding of engineering principles - knowledge of engineering disciplines: process, packaging, electrical, civil works.
·  In-depth understanding of designated functional engineering area of expertise (for specific job requirement i.e. controls, process, packaging)
·  Team skills - high performance teams experience.
·  Action oriented, interpersonal savvy, communication skills, planning, self-development, dealing with ambiguity, creativity, innovation management.
· 
Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
