Mars Strategic HR Business Partner opportunity
Position located in Hackettstown, NJ plant
Job Purpose:
The Business Partner of Manufacturing have an important role to play in supporting the Leadership Team on Site for the Manufacturing sites of Hackettstown (HKP), Elizabeth Town (ELZ), Engineering and Industrial Engineering. A primary goal of the Business Partner is to deliver successful signature P&O and site specific projects that cater to associate needs and enables overall unit effectiveness as well as deliver strategic programs at a local level to enable consistent and high quality service delivery in alignment with Mars Five Principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Effectiveness – Manage and deliver on site specific projects, embed the adoption of Mars signature programs and P&O foundations into the organization, interface with Line Managers, and communicate emerging business needs to CoEs
Enabling Operations – Guide, support, and position the MAS and Line Managers to most effectively and efficiently serve Mars associates
Business Leadership – Partner with the P&O Head and / or Senior Business Partner to achieve the goals aligned with the people agenda and business strategy, provide leadership to the business, and ensure associate advocacy .
Talent & Organizational Health – Support the P&O Head and/or Senior Business Partner in implementing talent and organization strategies, coach Line Managers to develop and grow associates, and continuously improve associate engagement
Job Scope:
· Site Effectiveness
· Collaborate closely with Site Leadership Teams on a variety of initiatives to drive operational efficiency and site effectiveness from a P&O standpoint by leveraging leading principles, tools, methods and P&O frameworks to empower organizations to drive results
· Support and collaborate with MyP&O to shape the nature of local P&O programs, processes, policies, and service delivery based on the business environment / strategy
· Work closely with the segment to translate business requirements into effective solutions that enable segment priorities and position the business for growth
Provide segment insights and key associate to segment P&O team and the CoEs to most effectively tackle P&O and other business needs that are critical to strong site performance and growth and support to develop solutions that focus on delivering outstanding service to associates
· Enabling Operations
· Serve as an advocate in promoting a “One Mars” environment and managing the interactions and interdependencies of MyP&O, CoEs, Business Partner, and Line Manager roles to enable local business success
· Educate and coach the Line Managers to interact directly with MyP&O on a range of topics to empower Line Managers to become more self-sufficient
Provide the day-to-day mentorship and guidance that associates need to be successful in their positions so that they are positioned to deliver impact to Mars
· Business Leadership
· Collaborate closely with business leaders to implement new and existing P&O programs that meet business needs, achieve strategic goals, and that emphasize associate advocacy as well as provide recommendations based on the most pressing site needs and provide solutions that will strengthen the brand and the business
· Responsible to ensure that the principles and values that underlie the Mars way of business are properly integrated into and observed across operating policies and practices
· Serve as an advisor, mediator, or coach, where questions of talent, development and change management arise between Line Managers and Associates.
Ensure a robust pipeline of programs that promote associate advocacy and foster associate engagement across the unit
· Talent & Organizational Health
Serve as the “voice of the business” acting as a key funnel for communicating feedback on the organizational pulse and on any talent / capability gaps to P&O and business leadership, to mitigate risks and strengthen the overall health of the organization
Job Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience:
· 5 or more years of progressive P&O (HR) experience
· HR Generalist experience working at senior levels across different segments
· Solid knowledge of global and local policies and practices and understand their application in solving business needs and ability to provide guidance
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Effective in building relationship at all levels
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making skills, using a comprehensive approach with strong attention to detail
· Good business acumen / business experience
· Strong consulting skills and ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome
· Ability to effectively manage and work within ambiguity and prioritize on business needs and resources
Education & Professional Qualifications:
· Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field
· Preferred qualification: Master / Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field).
