Category Manager e-commerce ( Remote)

The Category Leadership Manager is responsible for managing category leadership solutions for assigned customers in the ecommerce channel across the Mars/Wrigley Confectionery business. This role is expected to provide fact and insight based solutions that drive growth for category, customer, and company. Utilizing shopper insight, opportunity identification and full understanding of products, assortment, pricing, web page placement, virtual shelving, and promotion, this role is the primary insight provider for the confectionery category at customers that lead to marketplace actions. This role will work closely with internal and external partners.

Reporting to Category Leadership Director for New Transactions, this role is part of the Mars/Wrigley Category Leadership organization.

·  Create and plan category leadership solutions that deliver profitable sales growth for customers. These solutions should include shopper and category insights across: products/ assortment (everyday/ new products/ promoted/ seasonal), and virtual shelving and merchandising,
·  Influence the customer by identifying specific opportunities, assist with any research and lead projects to deliver category leadership solutions benefitting both customer and category
·  Influence Annual Account Business Planning at the customer, through fully partnering with the sales team, by providing actionable category insights and solutions that support category leadership objectives for customer, company and category
·  Identify specific research opportunities (shopper, consumer, etc.) to bring new learning to category leadership solutions
·  Execute all agreed-to category leadership solutions with the customers to include success measures and detailed follow through, monitoring and measuring progress
·  Evaluate/ monitor all customer category leadership solutions, turn analysis into recommended action and continually improve to be more effective and efficient for category and customer
·  Leverage insights and resources through the utilization of a broad range of data sources, market research findings, tools, analyses, and technology to continually bring new shopper ideas to customers and incorporate in all category solutions for assigned major customer(s)

Education:

Bachelors degree

Minimum Qualifications:

·  5 years of experience in Sales or Category Management
·  1 year of ecommerce experience
·  Experience in CPG with some knowledge of Confectionery category
·  The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
·  Experience working with syndicated data software (i.e., IRI or Nielsen)
·  Experience with promotional / non promotional strategy
·  Experience working with Microsoft Office programs specifically Excel and PowerPoint
·  The ability to travel of 40% of the time
·  Working knowledge of multiple channels, preferably Ecommerce, Grocery, Drug, and Mass
·  Successful completion of a drug and background screen

Preferred Qualifications:

·  5+ years of experience in Sales or Category Management
·  2+ year of business analytics experience
·  Advanced degree
·  2+ years of Ecommerce and Multi-Channel experience
