Test Engineer (Electrical/Electronics), Thame (Oxfordshire), £34k + Benefits
An exciting new opportunity has arisen within one of Oxfordshire’s leading specialist manufacturers in the electrical/electronics industry. The ideal Test Engineer will carry out testing procedures on the standard and bespoke product range. With a variety of challenging tasks you will be able to train staff, asses their competence and support new product development working alongside the technical engineering teams.
Responsibilities of the Test Engineer (Electrical/Electronics):
• Setting up and carrying out production test wiring activities for standard and bespoke products
• Working closely with members of the production team to meet targets in production and to a high level of quality standards
• Developing local test instructions by taking and interpreting the global test specification
• Training staff and assessing their competence with testing procedures
• Attending training courses and participating with “on the job” training, as appropriate to the development of job skills and mandatory Health and Safety requirements
Skills & Experience of the Test Engineer (Electrical/Electronics):
• Strong technical acumen supported by a HND, Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic discipline
• Able to understand ERP and Teamcentre to print Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Can identify root cause issue by problem solving and suggest high level solutions
• Qualified in Lean – Six Sigma or worked in a Lean – Six Sigma culture would be desirable
• Can work well as part of a team and able to supervise individuals in test activities
• Previous experience of setting up complex high voltage test equipment would be advantageous
