Sustainability Executive (UAE National)

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting the hotel’s sustainability initiatives and ensuring daily operations align with environmental and sustainability standards. The Sustainability Executive assists in implementing eco-friendly practices across departments, provides sustainability training for new employees, and identifies areas of environmental opportunity. This role also includes tracking compliance with sustainability certifications and assisting with government and industry regulatory requirements.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Experience: 1-2 years in a sustainability or environmental role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

·  Assist in ensuring compliance with Marriott International’s Brand Standard Audit (BSA) requirements related to sustainability.
·  Collaborate with the EHSMS Manager to integrate sustainable practices in line with the hotel’s operational goals, brand values, and guest experience standards.
·  Aid in tracking energy use, waste management, water conservation, and carbon footprint data to measure and improve the hotel’s environmental performance.
·  Help incorporate sustainability principles across departments, including sustainable sourcing, green housekeeping, and eco-friendly guest options.
·  Support the Manager in maintaining compliance with environmental laws and standards relevant to the hospitality sector.
·  Work with departments, staff, suppliers, and community partners to facilitate and encourage sustainability initiatives.
·  Conduct introductory sustainability training for new hires and assist in promoting a culture of environmental awareness.
·  Collect data and compile information for sustainability reports to assist the EHSMS Manager in tracking progress.
·  Stay updated on sustainability practices and help incorporate new, eco-friendly trends into daily operations.
·  Assist in organizing programs and activities that encourage guest involvement in the hotel’s sustainability efforts.
·  Work closely with the EHSMS Manager and the Engineering team to support sustainability efforts in alignment with health, safety, and engineering standards.
