Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
Sustainability Coordinator support the organization’s environmental, social, and governance goals. He/she assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives across departments, promoting environmentally responsible practices and helping the organization meet regulatory and organizational sustainability targets.
The responsibilities include:
Reports
· Prepare daily reports
· Analyze and report on property utility and waste management monthly.
· Prepare monthly environmental reports.
· Update maintenance and environmental systems monthly.
· Assist Engineering Manager with quantifying energy usage and waste production from all F&B outlets.
Trainings
· conduct required regulatory training.
Administration
· Organize the collection of trash and recyclables with vendors and suppliers.
· Update and maintain environmental boards around the property.
· Organize and file documents related to sustainability & engineering
· Organize and document environmental spills
· Organize and document fire drills with the assistance of Loss Prevention
· Facilitate external stakeholders for tours and site visits.
· Lead and motivate sustainability committee
· Assist with the procuring of equipment and inventory for sustainability and engineering
Audit
· Ensure waste separation is being practiced by associates daily.
· Monitor air temperature and humidity in conditioned spaces.
· Monitor water usage in kitchen and laundry areas
· Conduct LPG leak detection monthly
· Conduct water leak detection weekly
· Ensure front desk agents communicate the importance of sustainability on property to arrival guests.
· Ensure guestrooms are equipped with the necessary information and accessories to promote sustainability
· Monitor food safety practices in the food and beverage areas
· Participate in external environmental audits.
· Conduct internal audits in preparation for certification.
Research & Development
· Research and implement new sustainability practices
· Research and implement the use of more environmentally chemical
· Research and implement processes and infrastructure to increase LEED level.
Community Involvement
· Support employee engagement programs related to sustainability and environmental awareness.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business operations and decision-making.
· Coordinate and support sustainability projects, programs, and campaigns across the organization and communities.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
· 1–3 years of experience in sustainability, environmental compliance, or corporate social responsibility (CSR) preferred.
Skills:
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with sustainability tracking software is a plus.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, LEED, ISO 14001).
· Experience in data analysis and report generation.
· Certification in sustainability or environmental management is a plus.
