Our luxury global design team is looking for a strong Design / Project Manager who is passionate for good design and can skillfully influence our owners and designers to deliver extraordinary designs and amazing experiences for our guests.  Project Manager to direct new build and renovation projects with external consultants and owners, to ensure quality control, brand compliance and operational acceptability.
 Manages company input from all internal disciplines to external project teams. Provide information, interpretation and guidance to outside owners/franchisees as well as internal/design/construction staff for adapting brand standards to specific projects.
 Manages the negotiation of project critical design features as required per brand strategies and standards to the external customers.
 Manages property improvement plan process from the global design perspective.
 Manages project communication to owners, franchisees and internal project stakeholders.
 Ensure the selection and development of building products relevant to the brand specifications.
 Coordinate Criteria/Facilities programs for assigned projects.
 Responsible for documenting, maintaining, administering and improving the processes for delivering services.
 Manages design consultants, their proposals, contracts and invoicing to project objectives.
 Contribute to the creation of the project budget and manage to that project budget.
 Participates in site visit/market survey to develop better understanding of site/market demands.
 Supervise, direct, motivate and train assigned staff.
 May manage proper organizational structure, staff selection, performance management, salary administration, career planning, and staff budget.


Key Skills/Requirements:
 Experience managing complex architectural projects with diverse technical and design disciplines, from design to construction.
 Strong organizational and time management skills.
 In depth understanding of architectural Hospitality design and complex building types.
 Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering and mechanical drawings and specifications
 Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project & database mgmt. software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCad, Bluebeam, Adobe).
 Ability to evaluate architectural proposals for suitability for one or more of our brands.
 Knowledgeable about innovation & trends both in & outside of industry.
 Strong business acumen, problem solving & creative solution skills.
 Ability to build strong working relationships.
 Customer service skills.
 Ability to negotiate and be flexible when appropriate.
 Strategic thinking relative to the hospitality business.

 4-year degree in Architecture or related design discipline preferred.
 Minimum 8 years progressive working experience in architecture; at a design firm or at Hospitality focused firm.
 Ample experience in project management for large commercial or hospitality projects, from early design phase to construction completion.
 Architectural license preferred.
