JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Network Engineer is tasked with designing and implementing efficient networks, encompassing LANs, WANs, internet, intranets, and software-defined networks. As a key member of a high-performing team, they engage in technical workgroups, resolve complex issues, and lead the creation and implementation of infrastructure systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, outsourcing vendors, and external suppliers to define and implement the Property Networks roadmap, ensuring adherence to established standards. Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology, the position focuses on meeting customer and peer delivery requirements, including continental IT executives, LAN service providers, end-user computing services, hosting services, and enterprise availability. The Senior Network Engineer will provide senior technical engagement throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, executing initiatives to simplify, standardize, optimize, and automate network designs, tooling, and operations.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
· 2-year degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related major;7 years’ experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or related professional area.
OR
· 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related major; certified trainer; 5 years’ experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related professional area.
Required Qualifications
· 5 years’ experience with project management and implementation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.
· Technical certifications (ITIL, Cisco, MCSE, etc.).
· Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage effectively across multiple priorities and initiatives.
· Experience in designing large-scale enterprise network interconnectivity with cloud providers using standard best practices.
· Implementation of WAN, LAN, and data center networks with a focus on mission-critical, customer-facing applications and services.
· Experience in developing technology roadmaps and strategies across multiple sites/areas.
· Implementation engineering standards, documenting engineering designs, and participating in project cutovers.
· Experience in WAN and campus LAN design and implementation, preferably with a focus enterprise networks standards.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teams.
· Ability to know one’s audience and tailoring the language and explanation to the stakeholders involved.
· Experience owning vendor RFPs for network/technology products and services.
· In-depth expertise in networking, emphasizing software-defined networks (SDN), spine & leaf designs, firewalls, security (intrusion detection/prevention), DNS, NTP, and network management tools.
· Proficient in common routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), IPv6, VPN, data center fabric platforms (Cisco, Aruba), and routing/switching platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba).
· Proficient in QoS tools, bandwidth shaping, legacy networking, cloud interconnects, load balancers, WAN optimizers, and network virtualization.
· Proven ability to manage large global networks, driving transformation, improving security and stability, and leading effective technical teams.
The salary range for this position is $101,000 to $136,000 annually.
