What you will be doing
Responsibilities: Proactively identify, solicit, and secure new business for the hotel, as well as maintain and grow existing accounts across various market segments (e.g., corporate, group, leisure, catering). This role is critical to achieving/exceeding revenue goals through strategic sales initiatives, outstanding customer relationship management, and a commitment to prompt and effective lead management.
•Respond to all inquiries and leads in a timely and professional manner, adhering to established hotel standards for response time
•Proactively follow up on all leads and proposals, demonstrating persistence and a commitment to converting inquiries into confirmed business.
•Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
•Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the hotel and build professional relationships.
•Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information and sales activities in the hotel's CRM system (e.g., STS, SFAWeb/OneSource).
•Participate in weekly sales meetings and provide updates on sales activities and pipeline.
•Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals and Revenue Goals as assigned by the Director of Sales.
•Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. sales blitzes, etc.
•Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
The ideal candidate for this position
· Proven 2+ years of Sales Manager experience in a Marriott brand or luxury hotel is ideal
· Catering experience is preferred
· Four-year college degree from an accredited institution desired
· Solid computer skills and knowledge of various discipline-focused computer programs, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Excellent communication skills
· Strong organizational skills including follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Able to effectively manage time and prioritize workload
· Able to produce a weekly sales call schedule which addresses timely follow up of all tentative business, maintenance of existing accounts, and development of new business, and priorities assigned by the General Manager or Company personnel
· Complete all departmental reports and systems on a timely basis
· Able to negotiate contracts the best interests of the property while maintaining customer goodwill
· Understands operational capabilities of the property
· Maintains high visibility with peers and has strong product knowledge within competitive properties and hotel community
· Able to prospect, qualify, and close new business in telephone and outside personal sales call appointments
· Able to penetrate existing accounts through obtaining lists for direct mail, referrals, other company contacts or offices, and in general formulates a customer call strategy
· Able to build customer loyalty
· Able to work as a team member in a competitive environment
· Manages a group and interpersonal conflict situations effectively
· Follow all company Sales/Catering SOP standards
