Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, VCA hospitality management, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

 

The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas are cleaned, organized, and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and service excellence as established by the company. This role supports a superior guest experience through attention to detail, efficiency, and a guest-first attitude, while ensuring compliance with brand standards, cleanliness protocols, and safety procedures.
• Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms and public areas in accordance with company standards, including replenishing guest amenities, making beds, replacing linens, dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and report guest concerns, maintenance issues, or room discrepancies to supervisors for timely resolution.
• Handle guest property with care and respect while ensuring lost and found items are reported immediately per company policy.
• Inspect room appliances and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and report any deficiencies or required maintenance.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of housekeeping cart and assigned storage areas; restock supplies as needed.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Use appropriate cleaning techniques and tools for different surfaces and fixtures.
• Support sustainability practices by minimizing waste and following energy-saving procedures where applicable.
• Communicate effectively with fellow associates and supervisors to ensure consistent service delivery and smooth daily operations.
• Demonstrate proactive behavior and take initiative to identify and resolve cleanliness and maintenance needs without waiting for instruction.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Uphold brand service culture and ensure compliance with guest interaction standards, including greeting guests, offering assistance, and using courteous language at all times.
• Participate in departmental training programs and complete all required training modules on MGS (Marriott Global Source) platform within the established timelines.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately and follow company procedures for safety and incident reporting.
• Perform additional cleaning or service assignments as requested by supervisors, including deep cleaning projects or assistance in other areas of the hotel.

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in hospitality or similar environment is a plus.
• Languages: Fluent in English, Spanish, and Dutch (required).

o Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and meet productivity targets.
o Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
o Positive attitude and team spirit.
o Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
o Physical stamina and ability to push/pull housekeeping carts and lift items up to 25 lbs (with assistance if over).
