Position Summary

The Recreations Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the resort’s recreation facilities and activity programs. This role leads the recreation team in delivering engaging, safe, and memorable guest experiences. Duties include coordinating activity schedules, supervising guest participation, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining equipment and facilities, and supporting staff training and performance. The Recreation Team Leader acts as a role model, provides operational guidance, and ensures all recreation services meet brand standards.

This role is island‑based and requires working on a rostered stay‑on‑island schedule .
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Activity Coordination
·  Greet, encourage, register, and schedule guests for recreation activities while promoting a fun, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere.
·  Provide accurate information regarding recreation facilities, programs, rental equipment, and activity schedules.
·  Create activity agendas, signage, and advertisements using publishing software.
·  Promote recreation programs to increase guest participation and build engagement. Safety & Emergency Procedures
·  Enforce recreation facility rules and safety guidelines to ensure guest wellbeing.
·  Observe activity areas and respond promptly in accordance with emergency procedures.
·  Assess situations where guests may be unable to safely participate and escalate concerns to the manager.
·  Provide support to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive. Facility & Equipment Management
·  Conduct inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment; inform management when stock is low.
·  Clean, maintain, and visually inspect recreation facilities and equipment; report defects or hazards.
·  Ensure recreation spaces remain clean, organised, and safety‑compliant. Team Leadership & Operations
·  Assist management with training, motivating, coaching, and guiding recreation associates; act as a role model and support positive teamwork.
·  Ensure team adherence to guest service standards, safety policies, and operational procedures.
·  Support daily task allocation and team coordination to meet department goals. Administration & Service Delivery
·  Process activity bookings, rental transactions, and payments using POS systems.
·  Maintain professional communication with guests and colleagues; assist individuals with disabilities.
·  Answer telephones using proper etiquette and respond promptly to guest requests.
·  Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
·  Follow company policies regarding uniform, appearance, safety, and security.
·  Perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors or Management. Physical Requirements
·  Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire shifts.
·  Move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 25 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
·  Navigate uneven, sloping, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and narrow spaces.
·  Perform bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, and other physical tasks associated with recreation operations. Our Benefits:

·  Previous experience in recreation, sports activities, guest services, or hospitality roles required; leadership experience preferred.
·  Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with guests of all ages.
·  Knowledge of recreation programming and safety procedures; first aid certification is an advantage (training provided).
·  Comfortable working outdoors and performing physically demanding tasks.
·  Friendly, reliable, proactive, and capable of leading a team while working independently when needed.
·  Willingness to work on a rostered stay‑on‑island arrangement.
·  Must have legal working rights in Fiji.
