The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

JOB OVERVIEW
As the Director of Operations at the Kingston Marriott Hotel, you will play a pivotal role in managing daily hotel operations, ensuring superior service quality, and achieving financial objectives. Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll lead key departments, foster team collaboration, and uphold Marriott’s renowned standards of excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-level team at a full-service hotel, where your leadership and expertise will have a direct impact on the success of the property.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Returns
Assist the General Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring financial and operational plans aligned with company objectives.
Oversee operations in key areas, including front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, maintenance, and catering, ensuring goals are met and superior quality is maintained.
Ensure compliance with quality and brand standards across all departments, protecting the physical assets of the hotel through effective maintenance programs.
Maintain proactive human resources functions to ensure positive employee relations and compliance with policies and labor regulations.
People
Recommend and initiate staffing-related actions, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
Ensure all staff is properly trained and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
Guest Experience
Interact with guests, vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure total satisfaction and compliance with safety and operational standards.
Act as an ambassador for the hotel in the community and with professional organizations.
Health and Safety
Ensure compliance with local and provincial health and safety regulations.
Train the team to prioritize guest and employee safety in daily operations.
Responsible Business
Oversee daily assignments and departmental goals, ensuring alignment with hotel policies.
Foster positive owner relationships and provide regular updates on property performance.
Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the hotel’s value and guest experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in general management or high-level operations roles, preferably in a full-service hotel.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and profit/loss analysis.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
