JOB SUMMARY


The global search engine landscape is rapidly growing in complexity with new, sophisticated and unique ways to reach consumers across the world. As the world's largest hotel company, Marriott International is looking for a Manager, Global Paid Search to drive the management and evolution of our paid search engine marketing (SEM) efforts and support Marriott's global demand-led paid search program. This role will focus on generating performance and profitability for all 7,000+ Marriott hotels worldwide, based upon search demand from global markets. As a key contributor of these activities, this role will be expected to manage multiple agencies, and partner with several internal teams across Digital, Brand & Marketing, Loyalty, Analytics, as well as members of our franchise community.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Preferred

4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related major and 3+ years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance;

OR

4+ years of relevant professional experience in marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Paid Search Strategic Contributions:

·  Robust knowledge of paid search (SEM), campaign tracking, data analysis, reporting/measurement and innovating with new technology.
·  Helps develop goals and objectives for several paid search programs with a focus on profit-based performance.
·  Achieves annual paid search targets for Marriott's paid search program, in the US and internationally.
·  Manages key strategic projects including bidding strategy, automation, audience targeting, budget management, tracking & tagging, creative and landing page optimization.
·  Ensures Marriott's agency partners are aligned on Marriott's global strategy.
·  Provides subject matter expertise on paid search strategies to members of Global Brand & Marketing, Analytics, Digital, IT, and other groups as needed.
·  Helps manage key relationships with vendors such as Google, Bing, Yandex and Naver.
·  Consults on strategic direction and coordination of campaigns worldwide.

Paid Search Program Execution & Analysis

·  Demonstrates experience in successfully managing paid search campaigns.
·  Ensures successful execution and coordination of several complex paid search campaigns in support of all Marriott brands, promotions, products and 7,000+ properties worldwide.
·  Manages large scale, high dollar media budgets and executes campaigns within existing budget parameters.
·  Tests and analyzes keywords, keyword categories, bid strategies, audience targeting, ad copy, and landing pages in order to optimize to campaign KPIs.
·  Coordinates with external agency partners to ensure defect-free execution of campaigns.
·  Communicates regularly with key internal stakeholders to develop strategies and implement schedules for adding new keywords to support promotions, new products/service offerings and strategic business targets.
·  Leverages data and analytics to capture key insights and trends.
·  Analyzes campaign results to maximize sales and other valuable actions on Marriott.com. Communicates updates and provides direction and insights based upon results to campaign stakeholders.
·  Stays updated on paid search best practices, new products, policies for major search engines, and industry news. Provides ad-hoc summaries about important paid search industry changes and identifies new search opportunities.
·  Works with the Digital team, as appropriate, to develop, test and enhance new web/app experiences.
·  Focuses on mobile optimization and innovating via emerging technology and trends.
·  Adapts international strategy and tactics to align with local marketplace trends.
·  Executes in-market tests to gain learnings and improve campaign efficiencies.
·  Serves as the paid search team expert on campaign tagging, tracking and reporting tools.

Interaction with Key Corporate Stakeholders and Regional Field Marketing Efforts

·  Coordinates efforts with Marriott's Organic Search (SEO), Metasearch, Programmatic Media, and other Paid Media team strategies.
·  Works internally with Global Brand & Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, IT, Analytics, Regional and other Field Marketing teams.
·  Coordinates with the Field Marketing and Marriott Digital Services teams to mitigate duplication of efforts and increase Marriott's overall presence and performance in the search engines.
·  Takes an active role in communicating with the field regarding corporate paid search efforts, learnings and quarterly performance updates.

Vendor Relationship Management

·  Collaborates with external online advertising agencies to execute paid search programs against objectives.
·  Manages search engine relationships with Google, Bing, Yandex and Naver, etc.
·  Manages external bid management platform.
·  Manages partnerships with other Marriott vendors for competitive intelligence, location-based analysis, etc.
·  Coordinates with other Marriott agencies and vendors to ensure strategic alignment.
