POSITION SUMMARY
Laundry Attendant/ Cleanliness Expert
The Laundry Attendant/ Cleanliness Expert is responsible for maintaining uncompromising levels of cleanliness throughout all areas of the hotel, ensuring guests enjoy a warm, relaxed, and refined ambience during their stay. This role responds promptly to requests from guests and other departments and efficiently completes assigned housekeeping and laundry duties. Responsibilities include preparing and transporting supply carts to designated areas; entering guest rooms according to established access procedures; replenishing guest amenities and supplies; replacing dirty linens and terry; making beds; cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms; removing trash, soiled linens, and room service items; and ensuring all room appliances are present and functioning properly. The role also involves dusting, polishing, removing marks from walls and furnishings, straightening furniture and desk items, vacuuming carpets, and performing floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways. The role includes processing all soiled hotel bed linens, terry, and food and beverage table linens by operating heavy-duty equipment in accordance with hotel standards. Duties also include cleaning, pressing, and finishing staff and guest garments, as well as designated guest room fabrics and articles; sorting and folding towels and linens; and operating presser machines to complete guest items and employee uniforms safely and efficiently. May also assist with receiving, unloading, and processing deliveries; verifying and tracking inventory; completing inventory reports and logs; conducting inventory audits; and collaborating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices and received merchandise.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous laundry experience preferred, with knowledge of dry-cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and fabric finishing techniques
• Operate laundry equipment and move bundles of soiled and clean linens in and out of machines (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.)
• Receive housekeeping supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and maintain required inventory levels in clean, fire code–compliant storage areas
• Remove garbage, strip linens, and assist with bed-making during heavy turn-around days
• Sort linens by type (terry and flatwork), pack closets according to established par levels, and distribute linens and supplies to housekeeping pantries while keeping areas organized
• Clean and sanitize reusable bathroom amenities
• Perform general cleaning of guestroom surfaces including tubs, showers, sinks, wall tiles, hard floors, walls, windows, mirrors, and polish chrome fixtures
• Complete floor care duties including vacuuming, sweeping, damp mopping, spot cleaning, spray buffing, waxing, stripping, polishing, and carpet extraction using machinery as required
• Vacuum carpeted areas daily, remove spots and stains, and shampoo carpets as directed by the housekeeping supervisor
• Conduct high and low dusting (skirting boards, window ledges, curtain rails, notice boards, picture frames, furniture, doors, and fixtures)
• Flip, inspect, and steam clean mattresses and upholstered items; assist with curtain changes and upholstery cleaning
• Assist with room turns and other departmental requests as needed
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment, both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate strong English communication skills (verbal and written) and consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging customer service
• Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, grasping, and moving up and down stairs or service ramps while handling items up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible scheduled including evenings, weekends and holidays
