JOB SUMMARY
The 3 – 6 months structured program contains assignments that will provide learning objectives that give students the opportunity to gain experience in the hotel industry, specifically the Rooms Discipline area. The internship exposed a student in gaining a comprehensive on the Rooms Operations aspect in an above property environment.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Create Continent Standards deck on Rooms Discipline related subject matters
·
Conducts online research on latest Rooms Discipline related trends
·
Consolidates operational data for review and support analysis of findings
·
Creates powerful and compelling power point presentations pertaining to Rooms Discipline initiatives/projects
·
Contribute input and insights on Rooms related projects targeting the Millennial mindset consumers
·
Develops standard templates design that can be implemented into Rooms discipline projects
·
Liaises with properties on the collection of information, to ensure positive and timely outcome of projects

Qualifications :
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Possess a flair and sense for styling (design, color scheme combination) and attention to design details
·
Project-oriented mindset
·
Language - Strong command of written and spoken English.
·
Computer skills – Well versed in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, and web browsing tools
·
Ability to do some form of photography
·
Possess skills to read and analyze basic Financial information
·
Team player – Works well as an individual and with co-workers
·
A high degree of poise, tact and resourcefulness in obtaining, presenting and interpreting information
·
Highly self-started, motivated individual who thrives in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment
OTHER DUTIES

Ensure high standard of personal presentation and grooming
·
Maintain a professional relationship with representative in the Marriott Regional Office, Business Partners and other organizations
·
Attends training sessions and meeting when required
·
Able to travel and attend business if required
·
Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned
Enter and retrieve information contained in computer databases using a keyboard, mouse, or trackball to update records, files, reservations, and answer inquiries from guests. Transmit information or documents using a computer, mail, or facsimile machine. Operate standard office equipment other than computers. Prepare letters, memos, and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including date stamping and distributing incoming mail. Create and maintain computer- and paper-based filing and organization systems for records, reports, documents, etc. Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities. Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
· Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and completely, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
