Job Summary
Excelsior Hotel Gallia is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to support the accounting and finance operations of the hotel. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP, company policies, and local accounting standards, while providing accurate financial reporting and analysis.
This is a full-time role requiring strong analytical and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
· Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, accruals, prepayments, and period close activities.
· Assist in preparing internal and external financial reports, ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations.
· Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT reconciliation, and fixed asset maintenance.
· Ensure accurate revenue and expense reporting.
Compliance & Process Improvement
· Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with financial reporting standards.
· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Support audit documentation requests for internal and external reviews.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
· Minimum 1 year experience
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), with advanced Excel skills preferred.
· Experience with accounting software (PeopleSoft/Oracle preferred).
· Familiarity with financial reconciliation and reporting tools.
Education & Qualifications
· Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
· Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
· Advanced level in English and Italian (both writing and speaking)
