Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, VCA hospitality management, LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in guest rooms and public areas as required by Marriott programs such as CARE, GCPM, and RPM.
• Conduct deep cleaning of wood corridors, ceilings, furniture, and other surfaces according to the standards.
• Inspect and clean mattresses, box springs, lighting, fixtures, grout, caulking, and minor room repairs.
• Record and follow up on all tasks using the Transcendent system.
• Report structural problems, hazards, or abnormal findings immediately to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Replace light fixtures, tighten furniture fittings, and perform basic maintenance duties such as patching walls, changing light bulbs, and realigning hardware.
• Maintain proper cleanliness and presentation of all surfaces including tubs, wall tiles, hard floors, mirrors, windows, and furniture.
• Demonstrate proactivity in task execution, aiming to complete assignments efficiently and to Marriott’s high standards.
• Ensure adherence to Marriott service standards, grooming policies, and cleanliness expectations at all times.
• Participate and complete all mandatory departmental and safety trainings, and remain active on the Marriott Global Source (MGS) platform.
• Uphold safety procedures, wear personal protective equipment, and use cleaning materials and tools according to company policy.
• Interact politely with guests if needed, offering a courteous and professional response.
• Collaborate with the Engineering & Maintenance team to meet operational and guest satisfaction goals.
Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to work standing, walking, or seated for extended periods or entire shifts.
• Comfortable with stair climbing, and accessing confined or elevated spaces when needed.
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Work Experience:
At least 1 year of relevant experience in general cleaning or preventive maintenance, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Other Requirements:
• Experience using maintenance systems such as Transcendent is preferred.
• Ability to understand written instructions and complete digital records or reports.
• Professional appearance and commitment to upholding company policies.
• Completion of all MGS-required training within established deadlines.
