Position Summary
The Banquets Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the successful day-to-day operations of the Banquets Department. Working with the Banquets Management Team, the Supervisor uses a hands-on approach both with our guests and the employees to ensure efficiency and a positive overall guest experience for meetings and catered events by directing, guiding, and organizing the Banquets team. This is a working Supervisor role and the individual is also expected to fill in any gaps within the department.
Requirement:
Must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, nights as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs- Flexibility a requirement. A reliable means of transportation will be required. This is a hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities:
· To ensure guest satisfaction is exceptional by incorporating all Delta Standards, Meeting Maestro, and professional service standards.
· Builds strong relationships with guests and fosters loyalty by personally, and through the team, acting as a host.
· Introduces them self to meeting/event organizer and checks in with them periodically, ensuring all needs are taken care of immediately.
· To be the guests advocate, anticipating needs, solving problems and sharing of information by demonstrating empathy on an immediate basis.
· Tracks guest needs data and implements changes to increase satisfaction prevention of future problems.
· Ensures that food and beverages are served in a friendly and exceptional service-oriented manner and the rooms and presentation of the food and beverage items are aesthetically pleasing.
· Assists in guiding, directing and developing an engaged Banquets team through a hands-on approach.
· Is physically present at all high (busy) times working the rooms and leading by example.
· Ensures the team understands the correlation between service excellence and guest perception of the hotel, mentoring all members of the team towards service excellence and the creation of wow factors.
· Actively works to build a high performing, motivated and engaged team.
· Monitors the Banquets team performance and how it relates to Empathic scores taking appropriate action to recognize positive efforts and improve results.
· Provides training, coaching and guidance to Banquets employees.
· Ensures and participates in High Timetraining for the department.
· Ensures Health & Safety requirements are met.
· To assist with ensuring the effective execution of the entire Banquets service cycle.
· Works with Catering Sales to verify the accuracy of BEO information and to ensure that Banquets precisely and creatively executes all details meeting all guest and Delta Standards and participates in pre-convention meetings on a timely basis.
· Ensures proper working of A/V equipment according to function needs.
· Provides creative and appropriate propping and room decoration for functions.
· Ensures all rooms are refreshedto maintain professional presentation of the room during meeting breaks with non-interference of presentation material.
· Supervises and assists in the set-up and tear down of the room.
· Has active ownership for the Meeting Maestro Program execution and creative input to the program.
· Ensure the meeting/event organizer receives the Maestro Pin and is aware of the hotline number.
· Completes the Meeting Maestro Log.
· Participates in Meeting Maestro Audits.
· Participates in in-site and hot site inspections ensuring all program-related materials are posted prominently.
· Ensures the events are executed precisely and creatively as per the needs of the guests, outlined in the BEOs and pre-con meetings and performs pre-shift meetings and completes daily audits on events.
· Ensures the accuracy of guest accounts with accurate and timely billing completion.
· Assists with maximizing Banquets revenue utilizing effective selling strategies.
· Employs the available resources to drive the business, ensuring the implementation of effective controls, processes and procedures.
· Ensures productivity by managing labour effectively.
· Assists with inventory management, counting and reconciliation.
· Ensures cash handling and guest billing processes are adhered to in a timely and accurate basis.
· Ensures that all processes and procedures are adhered to including all checklist duties.
· Manages responsibility of the cash floats and liquor inventory by shift.
· Provides facilities management through ensuring furniture, fixtures, equipment, storage areas and the banquet rooms are well maintained and clean portraying the quality of our product.

Experience:
· Post-secondary training in hospitality or Food and Beverage Operations preferred.
· 2-3 years conference/ event/ banquet services experience
· Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a high volume and/or multi-unit Food and Beverage Operations.
· Knowledge of AGLC rules and Proserve certification
· Billing and cash handling experience
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
· Cash handling experience an asset
· WHMIS Training an asset
