Job Summary

This position is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Floral Studio in accordance with hotel standards. Trim, water, and prepare flowers for display. Receive flowers from suppliers, unloading of the shipment, including verifying correct quantities, refusing flowers that are not in acceptable condition, and logging in flowers received. Received floral shipments are to be stored according to floral specifications. Create custom floral arrangements for public areas, restaurant outlets, banquets, guest rooms and residences per instructions of the Floral Shop Supervisor. Deliver flowers and floral displays/arrangements to customers, on-property or off site locations. Follow up with customer or department to ensure floral order is delivered as requested. Assist and support with site set-up of floral displays/arrangements. Keep storeroom, cooler and outside of shop neat and clean at all times. Follow checklist for cleaning shop before closing. Fulfill any reasonable request as made by Floral Shop Supervisor or other supervisory or managerial employees.

Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; grasp, turn, and manipulate objects; move up and down stairs and/or service ramps; move, lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
