Job description

This is a temporary position. 

The Manager, Business Development is responsible to grow the Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy (HVMB) business across assigned US/Canada markets. The role will for prospect, qualify, sell to and vet home management companies (HMCs) to partner with HVMB. To accomplish this, the role will build and manage a sales funnel and implement an effective strategy to meet monthly and annual goals. Success in the position requires working at a fast pace, employing problem solving and project management skills to onboard HMCs to meet individual unit goals with vacation property inventory that contributes to team goals on Revenue, Booking Rate and Intent to Recommend.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience Required 

·  4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related subject
·  3+ years of experience in business/partnership development, hotel industry or other relevant business experience, demonstrating a pattern of exceptional performance
·  Demonstrated ability of strong sale knowledge/sales funnel management, project management and organizational skills with a service mindset
·  Demonstrated ability to show a professional demeanor, capable of expressing confident, independent judgement
·  Willingness to travel 10% - 20%

 

Education and Experience Preferred

·  Hotel sales, vacation rental development, property management and/or OTA experience

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES   

 

Development

·  Works with Senior Manager, Business Development to identify, initiate, and analyze potential partnerships.
·  Supports the coordination of all aspects of the development process internal to Marriott Bonvoy, including:
·  Prospecting/qualification
·  Pitching/Selling
·  Due diligence
·  Contract negotiations
·  Create case in support of recommending the HMC to the appropriate Marriott committees.
·  Successfully onboards units to the platform to meet individual unit goals.

 

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

·  Complies with national, regional, and local laws in the markets we operate.
·  Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
·  Manages the flow of questions from HMCs/ Connectivity Providers and other partners, directing questions and escalations to their leader. 

 

Supporting Operations

·  Works with team to use processes and systems that are in place and make recommendations for incremental improvements, implementing these recommendations where appropriate.
·  Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.
·  Manages HMC/ Connectivity Provider relationships in the initial period before they are handed over to Account Management.

 

Additional Responsibilities

·  Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors and co-workers in a timely manner.
·  Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
·  Maintains positive working relations with internal customers, HMCs/ Connectivity Providers and the wider HVMB team.
·  Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner.
·  Performs other reasonable duties as assigned by manager.
·  Knowledge of Salesforce, Excel, Word, PowerPoint 

 

The hourly pay range for this position is $43.65 to $54.33.
