JOB SUMMARY

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for contracting and closing local catering and social business and ensuring that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery.  The position is responsible for achieving outlets’ revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue. The incumbent implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and drives customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

MANAGING SALES EVENTS

·  Manages sales efforts for the hotel’s outlet including local corporate and social catering.
·  Responds to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel. 
·  Identifies, qualifies and solicits new catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
·  Co-operate with B&F, Banqueting and Marketing department to achieve budgets.
·  Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them. 
·  Develop sales strategy for outlets.

MANAGING EVENT LOGISTICS AND OPERATIONS

·  Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
·  Greets customer during the event phase and hands-off to the Event Operations team for the execution of details.
·  Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.
·  Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill.
·  Identifies operational challenges associated with his/her group and determines how to best work with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.

EVENT OPERATIONS 

·  Monitors all contractual agreements pertaining to, meeting space, beverage and food and special concessions.
·  Coordinates all agreements stipulated in the group / event contract between operational departments.
·  Responsible for maximizing food and beverage revenues from assigned groups by solicitation of affiliate business and up selling.
·  Effectively communicate to all hotel departments the information necessary to successfully execute the group's needs. Provide feedback with solid and open communication.

ENSURING AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE 

·  Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience and encourages the same from other employees.
·  Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
·  Sets a positive example for guest relations.
·  Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations.
·  Makes presence known to customer at all times during this process.
·  Oversees his/her customer experiences from file turnover through the post event phase until turnover back to sales.
·  Follows up with customer post-event.
