Job description
We have a rare opportunity that has become available in our Events Team at Sheraton Melbourne as Event Executive.
This role will be reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, with a dotted line to Director of Sales.
The Event Executive is responsible for the effective coordination and management of meetings, incentives, exhibition groups and wedding functions - from once the event has been handed over and contracted, the Event Executive takes full responsibility and is accountable for planning, implementation, and executing the event until departure, including the final settlement of account. The position is responsible for achieving catering revenue goals by actively up selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue.
The incumbent implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects to drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Achieves personal goals
Event Activities
· Maximizes revenue by up-selling packages and creative food and beverage.
· Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. Customer correspondence, BEO’s, Event Order Meeting).
· Participates in and practices daily service basics of the brand.
· Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise because of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong Communication & Organisation skills
Knowledge of Opera, Signage system, Microsoft Office, and Adobe
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Able to coordinate between different hotel departments and stakeholders
Ensure smooth site execution and preparation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience in events, banquets, front of house and / or preparing and managing BEO's.
Internal Marriott experience preferred

• Meet the grooming standards of the hotel as set out in the Associate Handbook.
• Maintain company confidentiality, ensuring that business dealings within the organization are not discussed with outside parties.
• Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
