Job Summary
The Digital Field Marketing Executive, UK & Ireland is responsible for the development and execution of the digital marketing plan of a selection of hotels within the Starwood Hotels & Resorts portfolio in the UK & Ireland. This role supports multiple hotels across 6 distinct Starwood brands within the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will support and report into the Senior Manager, Brand & Digital Marketing and is part of the UK & Ireland marketing team based in London.
Key job functions:
Ø In collaboration with the Marketing Manager UK & Ireland, monitor and execute the SEO and content marketing strategies for all Starwood properties in UK&I.
Ø In collaboration with the Senior Manager, UK & Ireland, work closely with sales, revenue management, PR and property teams to execute an individual digital marketing plan for each hotel, focusing on demand generation and high impact digital activities with proven ROI.
Ø Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including creative agencies, advertising agencies and online 3rd parties, (including outlet booking channel partners).
Ø Support the distribution and optimization of all online content, both directly and in liaison with the appointed agencies or freelancers.
Ø The optimization and merchandising of hotels on online direct channels and external channels (online travel agencies and partners).
Ø The implementation, measurement and reporting of demand generation initiatives.
Ø Support the Senior Manager with the continuous monitoring of paid search marketing performance.
Ø Manage all email marketing initiatives (utilizing and optimizing campaigns sent via the available Starwood communication tools & platforms).
Ø Create a social media calendar per hotel and drive online engagement.
Ø Develop, share and implement best practices within the region and across other Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Supporting Job Functions:
Ø Driving digital initiatives
Develop and implement all demand generation initiatives required by business needs across all online channels with a view to maximize results. Implement all digital brand campaigns applying to the UK & Ireland Starwood hotels.
Ø F&B Marketing Requirements
Execute the digital food and beverage tactical plan across the hotels in line with overall objectives set in marketing plans and in collaboration with UK & Ireland PR team. Manage F&B email colander for the respective food and beverage outlets.
Ø SEO and Content Marketing
Increase Starwood UK&I websites ranks by developing a link building strategy using strategic keywords. Collaborate with PR department on digital PR and focus on image optimization. Manage the content marketing plan both on owned media & channels and third parties (OTA's). With the help of the Manager, use keyword tools such as Moz Pro and SEMrush, define and implement a content marketing strategy to drive traffic and revenue for both hotel and restaurant websites. Ensure content is up to date and consistent on all OTAs such as Booking.com, Expedia, Trivago and HotelBeds. Maximise content completion score for all OTAs to maximize OTAs channels efficiency. Perform regular rank checks and with the help of the Manager use rank checker tools, implement and schedule monthly rank checker reports to be shared with different stakeholders.
Ø Social Media
Drive the organic and paid social media initiatives and ensure there is a strong presence across the agreed social platforms per hotel. Continuously drive engagement with online audiences through an innovative content calendar focusing on stimulating online conversations. Share the content calendar with different stakeholders during monthly meetings. Support selected events with social media activation. Collaborate with the brand marketing executives to create killer content with a CREATIVE, innovative and “can do” attitude. Create rich media for all properties and venues. With the help of the Manager share Social Media results and best practices. Continuously identify new social media opportunities with different channels and tools.
Ø SPG Member Experiences & Engagement
Develop and implement digital initiatives and campaigns supporting the company and hotel strategies around acquisition, satisfaction and engagement of Starwood Preferred Guest members (Starwood hotels and resorts loyalty programme). Support the team with online content capturing SPG Member events (Elite, Moments, Local - as appropriate).
Ø Monthly and quarterly reports
Develop monthly/quarterly communication updates and wrap-up reports for hotels and regional team highlighting the different digital marketing activities.
Professional attributes, skills & experience:
Ø Bachelor's degree preferred in marketing, advertising and / or communication.
Ø Two to three years' experience in marketing/advertising industry with an expertise in digital marketing. Preferred hotel experience with good understanding of how hotels are managed across functions Experience in preparing analysis of site analytics, digital campaigns and trends.
Ø Experience with Google Analytics and Omniture SiteCatalyst is a plus.
Ø Experience with Adobe Suite is a plus (Photoshop)
Ø Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript is a plus.
Ø Excellent command of the English language - both written & spoken.
Ø Capable of performing multiple tasks and handle multiple priorities
Ø Creative and innovative thinking, person has to be resourceful and capable to take initiatives.
Ø Demonstrate intuition when reviewing a hotel's business critical needs, acting with responsibility and sophistication in equal measure.
Ø Great communicator and likes working with a team and employees across multiple functions/departments
Ø Be passionate about digital content and understanding of how to drive content across all available online channels.
Ø Passionate about art, photography, film making or writing a plus.
Ø Superior analytical skills required as well as knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook etc.
Ø Desire to set best practices and share successful initiatives across the Starwood Hotels.
