POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are currently looking for a talented and dedicated Demi Chef with experience in Japanese cuisine to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring adherence to food safety and presentation standards. Your expertise in Japanese culinary techniques will be key to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare special meals, substitute items, and ensure that food is cooked according to recipes and quality standards. Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, and ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish of dishes.
·  Cold Foods: Assist with the preparation of cold dishes while adhering to presentation and quality standards.
·  Food Logs & Inventory: Maintain food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food. Inform the Chef of excess food items and assist in creating daily specials.
·  Team Communication: Collaborate with Food & Beverage service staff to communicate menu specials and out-of-stock items, ensuring smooth service operations during busy periods.
·  Guest Experience: Anticipate and address guest needs, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards for taste and presentation.
·  Operational Support: Follow all company safety policies, report maintenance needs, and complete safety certifications as required. Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating kitchen staff.

Physical Demands:

·  Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
·  Ability to perform tasks involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
·  Lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Demi Chef specializing in Japanese cuisine.
·  Proven expertise in traditional and contemporary Japanese culinary techniques.
·  Strong knowledge of food safety standards and quality control.
·  Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
·  Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and attention to detail.
