Job description
FINANCIAL RETURNS
· Assist Executive Sous Chef in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
· Assist Executive Sous Chef to prepare statistical, performance, and forecast analyses and reports as required.
· Keep track, report and control on the running costs of the department.
· Act as custodian of office equipment and supplies.
PEOPLE
· Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with brand standards, service behaviors, and governmental regulations.
· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
· To attend meetings, daily briefings and training sessions as well as any hotel related activities.
· Ensure all necessary documents for staff resignation/ termination, transfer, promotions, such as termination advice, personnel requisition and change of status.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
· Acquire a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities and local information to respond to guest questions in these areas.
· Act as liaison between Culinary Department, Food & Beverage and Hygiene Department.
· Ensure that guest satisfaction data is analyzed and data available to assist the Executive Sous Chef to develop plans and implement to achieve established goals.
· Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information related to the VIPs and other key food and beverage guests, or other special guest needs.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
· Ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within Occupational Health and Safety policies and guidelines.
· Ensure property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy.
· Constant concentration at all times is required to maintain awareness and reputation of the hotel, brand in the local community, and promote team member involvement in community outreach efforts.
Basic Competencies - Fundamental competencies required for accomplishing basic work activities.
· Basic Computer Skills - Uses basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
· Mathematical Reasoning - Demonstrates ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly, correctly, and in a way that allows one to solve work-related issues.
· Oral Comprehension - Demonstrates ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
· Reading Comprehension - Demonstrates understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
· Writing - Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Others
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
· Comply with W Abu Dhabi Yas Island policies and procedures, Business Code of Conduct and Ethics policies under Marriott International, Talent Handbook and guidelines and hotels regulations on fire, hygiene, health and safety.
· Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene as per hotels grooming standards at all times.
· Comply with the hotels Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety procedures at all times.
· Carry out your role in a safe and environmental friendly way, protecting the health and safety of both talents and guests, the hotel equipment’s, as well as contributing to protecting the environment.
· Project at all times a positive “can do” attitude.
· Attend and contribute to meetings, department and hotel trainings and other scheduled activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
· Related Work Experience: No related work experience.
· Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
· License or Certification: None
