JOB SUMMARY

As a Food Preparation and Cooking Assistant, your primary responsibility is to assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. You will be involved in various tasks such as preparing ingredients, cooking, testing food for doneness, monitoring food quality, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen and the satisfaction of customers.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

·  High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.

OR

·  2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area. 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

·  Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
·  Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
·  Test foods for doneness.
·  Prepare breads, pastries, doughs, fillings, and icings as required.
·  Review production sheets and follow guidelines for baked goods production.
·  Monitor food quality using HACCP forms and production charts.
·  Wash and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables as needed.
