JOB PURPOSE
To be part of a progressive team of committed chefs aiming to prepare and provide high quality food to a consistent standard in the assigned section.
KEY DUTIES
· Follows menus and recipes in preparing food items needed for the shift
· Prepares and presents all items in accordance with recipe specifications.
· Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area, including but not limited to refrigerators, freezers, ovens, shelves, worktables and sinks.
· Keeps himself/herself updated with new trends of food preparation.
· Judges quality of products in view of freshness and expiry dates.
· Informs appropriate supervisor in case of any shortages and quality problems.
· Verifies quality of food items issued and/or received from the stores and suppliers.
· Returns all items to proper storage areas after use.
· Monitors all equipment’s functionality, including but not limited to refrigerators and freezers and reports any problem in solved.
· Seeks own solutions to the minor obstacles that occur from time to time.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS
· Fluency in English
· Either in possession of Diploma in Food Preparation or currently undertaking studies in the field
· Previous experience would be considered as an asset
