JOB SUMMARY
A proactive sales role, the Cluster Sales Manager (Sports & Entertainment) is responsible for managing an existing portfolio of hotel accounts as well as new business development. The Cluster Sales Manager will identify and secure business opportunities for the group, meetings/events and business transient segments, and foster long term customer relationships. The role requires a strong customer focus, seeking solutions to meet customer needs and ensuring collaborative working with multiple stakeholders across the Cluster Hotels.
The Cluster Sales Manager provides sales support at both a cluster and property level.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
This is an ideal role for someone customer-focussed, results-driven and passionate about proactive sales looking for a multi-property role, or someone with existing sports and entertainment experience.
· Experience in hotel sales or relevant sales experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
· Experience with sports and entertainment segments would be advantageous.
· The role requires flexibility as working location is driven by client appointments and visibility across the five hotels.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintains and grows business from existing accounts and generates new business leads in group, catering and business transient, with a focus on Sports, Entertainment and Filming opportunities.
· Takes ownership of deployed segments and drives new initiatives to generate enquiries and increase enquiry conversion.
· Works collaboratively with the hotel teams and wider sales teams (such as National and Global Sales) on client activity and engagement.
· Organises and conducts site inspections and FAM trips; arranges client meetings and activity.
· Ensures clear communication with hotels and stakeholders on sales activity and results.
· Supports Groups & Events Team with enquiry closure using experience and knowledge of deployed segments.
· Focuses on business development, identifies and qualifies opportunities.
· Attends networking and industry events; monitors local, national and international business outlook to deepen knowledge of deployed segments and wider hotel strategies.
· Supports enquiry process and contracts for complex bookings and proactively develops customer solutions.
· Creates strategic account plans and manages strategic direction for deployed segments in partnership with Revenue Management to achieve hotel and individual goals.
· Adapts to evolving business conditions and leads tasks and projects assigned by management.
· Maintains accurate and up to date account data and reporting
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Strong communication skills with a confident communication style across different channels (face-to-face, telephone, e-mail, intermediary websites etc.)
· Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes from enquiry generation through to contract
· Can effectively up-sell products and services; strong negotiation skills; strong problem-solving skills, ability to seek solutions; can bring a sale to closure
· Demonstrates tenacity with business development
· Strong organisation and time management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; has effective decision-making skills
· Strong relationship management skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders and associates alike
· Ability to implement successful sales strategies and execute sales plans for individual accounts at assigned cluster hotels
· Knowledge of group, catering and transient business
· Understands revenue management functions and account profitability
· Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems
