Job description
F&B Internship POSITION PURPOSE
Work in the F&B outlets to ensure achievement of strategic departmental goals, especially in the area of guest satisfaction. Be prepared to work all different shifts within the Restaurant service, banquet service, room service, bar service, club lounge service. The trainee will have an introduction and notions of the conventions department, an overview of the F&B manager’s tasks an introduction to the Cost control department.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide excellent guest service by discovering all of our guests needs and acting on these needs promptly, effectively and with confidence.
· Work across all areas of Gullivers, the Lobby Bar and during our various events, to ensure that guest expectations are exceeded and standards are consistently maintained.
· Liaise and communicate effectively with all departments to ensure seamless transfer of information
· Be fully conversant with all Gullivers, the Lobby Bar and the banquet policies and procedures.
· When fully competent, give support to the Manager and Leading Servers to provide effectiveness on job training and coaching of new staff to help develop a highly skilled and motivated team, committed to both Hotel and departmental goals.
· Take active party in the Synergy program to develop a team of multi-skilled F&B Servers across all F&B outlets

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Requires good communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of food products, standard recipes and proper preparation.
• Quick learning and Good memory.
• Should be able to anticipate, understand and effectively respond to the “internal customer”, meaning employees.
• Walking and standing are required during the working day.
• Ability to be confidential about all the information’s regarding the guests
• Fluent French and English spoken and written. Dutch a real asset.
Any other languages are welcome
• Accurate in its daily work
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
• Ensure full liaison with other members of the Front Office team
• Strong communication with the Kitchen, Events and Front Office
• Key relationships with Kitchen, Front Office, Housekeeping, Events and other F&B areas.
• Attend IRD/Bar Communication Meetings
• Attend Quarterly Staff Meeting
• Attend ESI Meetings
• Key relationships with all Hotels to ensure customer expectations are met/exceeded at all times.
