Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

·  To ensure section or area of work fully complies with the Unit Food Safety Policy, in relation to Company guidelines.
·  To maintain standards of food quality in all areas of the business including Staff Restaurant.
·  To ensure all relevant documentation in relation to Unit Food Safety Policy is carried out without exception.
·  Act on daily request from Supervisors.
·  To ensure Taste Panels and Short Take training is carried out in the absence of a Sous Chef.
·  Action and report any failure in our Brand Standard immediately.
·  To ensure any job specific responsibility is carried out within set time frame.
·  To ensure you respond to any requests promptly and in a courteous manner, including home work deadline of any courses.
·  Assist and develop junior members of the team.
·  To be involved with Taste Panels and document.
·  To be involved with all Maintenance issues and report to Supervisor.
·  To be involved with all daily briefing of staff members.
·  To be involved with all Stewarding defects and report to Supervisor.
·  To liaise with all internal customers.
·  To attend a minimum of 80% of Kitchen meetings.
·  To have precise food knowledge in case of allergens present and ensure no cross contamination happens
·  To maintain the Department in a service and cost-effective manner that reflects our service product, highest health and safety and hygiene factors in order to comply with Hotel, Company and internal and external customer satisfaction.

Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate and address guests’ service needs. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
