Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Protea Hotel by Marriot Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:
•    Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and BSA standards.
•    Operate Micros POS efficiently for order processing and payments.
•    Engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent service.
•    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
•    Daily stock counts.
•    Work between bars if needed.
•    Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
•    Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth bar operations, especially during peak hours.

Minimum Requirements:
•    Grade 12 certificate.
•    Micros POS knowledge.
•    Strong communication skills and ability to engage with guests professionally.
•    Positive attitude, self-disciplined and a motivated TEAM player.
•    Punctual, attention to detail and Problem-solving.
•    Ability to work flexible hours, including days, late-night shifts and weekends.
•    Knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits is an advantage.
•    Must be able to work and perform well under pressure.
