Job description

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Assistant Manager, Event Booking Centre plays a key role in supporting the EBC team throughout the reactive sales process, with a strong focus on maximizing revenue, maintaining pace toward booking goals, and ensuring guest satisfaction. This position contributes to the efficient and timely handling of group and event enquiries, proposal and contract preparation, and seamless turnover to Event Planning. The role also supports daily operations and team coordination, stepping into a leadership capacity when the EBC Sales Manager is absent to ensure continuity and excellence in service delivery.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience

 

·  2-year degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Sales, or related field; and minimum 2 year of experience in Sales, Events, or Reservations.

 

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Sales & Booking Process Support

 

·  Responds to group and catering enquiries following brand guidelines and standard turnaround times.
·  Prepares proposals and contracts using standard templates.
·  Inputs and maintains lead information in Opera Sales & Catering and associated systems (SFA/GPO..)
·  Ensures accuracy in group blocks, rates, and rooming lists.
·  Assists with site inspections and client visits.

 

Team & Administrative Support

 

·  Assists the EBC Sales Manager in training and guiding the team.
·  Helps coordinate daily team activities, updates, and communication flow.
·  Supports the handover process to Event Planning, ensuring all documentation and client needs are clearly communicated.
·  Liaises with internal departments (Operations, Kitchen, Finance, etc.) to ensure alignment.
·  Provides administrative support including reporting, proposal formatting, and database management.

·  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
·  Excellent knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering and Microsoft Office tools.
·  Fluent in French & English (written and spoken); other language skills are a plus.
·  Detail-oriented, collaborative, proactive.
·  Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
