We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to provide a professional, advisory and support service to the Chief Engineer.

J ob Description
Reporting to the Chief Engineer the Assistant Chief Engineer will be responsible for addressing a range of maintenance issues including guest requests, back of house and safety as well as supervising and assisting Engineering Team Members.
Working to tight deadlines, it is a fast-paced department that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that Sheraton standards are maintained. You must be available to carry out and coordinate emergency maintenance work outside of normal working hours in the case of full power failure, evacuation fire system re-set and or failure of mechanical systems. You will perform duties such as (but not limited to):
· Assist with assigned Capital projects.
· Raise Purchase Orders and perform invoicing and end of month accruals
· Prepare work schedules and annual leave schedules within budget as per the Hotel EBA
· Liaise and supervise Property Maintenance Contractors onsite
· Assist all Engineering team members with maintenance and repairs when required
· Monitor and audit maintenance request system to ensure adherence to response times and resolution of defects
· Work closely with Guest Service and Housekeeping to ensure inventory is available for sale.
· Assist with recruitment, training and development of team members
· Maintain all workshop tool and equipment inventory
· Attend monthly Safety meetings and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Requirements
To be considered for this position:
· Ideally trade qualified.
· Prior supervisory experience in a large organisation, ideally in a hospitality environment.
· Knowledge HVAC, building maintenance and fire control systems.
· Solid understanding of Workplace Health and Safety.
· Strong organisational ability including time management, task prioritisation and project management.
· Have previous experience in managing a team.
· Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, 5 star hotel experience preferable.
This role is part of our emergency response team and as such advanced first aid skills and forklift licence is also an advantage.
